Expo 2015 - Litokol supplies the "Food for Thought" Pavilion of the UAE

Litokol has supplied adhesives and sealants for the construction of several areas of the UAE pavilion, one of the most visited ones at Expo 2015, designed by the London-based studio Foster+Partners and built by Tecton Società Cooperativa of Reggio Emilia.
With an area of 4,386 square metres, the "Food for Thought" pavilion of the UAE is inspired by the landscape of the United Arab Emirates and relies on green and sustainable technology.
The pavilion was made in the shape of a canyon, which is 140 metres long and is delimited by partitions and 12-metre high curvilinear walls. The architectural style of the building resembles, on the one hand, the narrow pedestrian streets of the cities of the Arabian Peninsula and, on the other, the soft and sinuous shapes of the desert.
Litokol has supplied materials for the laying of all pavilion flooring and coverings: high-performance cement-based adhesives for the laying of ceramic tiles and natural stones, which are also suitable for overlaying and heated flooring. In addition, waterproofing products were used for damp indoor areas and for the internal staircase leading from the show area to the oasis.
